What, how,
and how much.

Stubbornly strategy-first

I’m pretty easygoing about 99.9% of life, but I’ll definitely dig my heels in about putting a solid strategy behind anything I write for you.

There’s no point otherwise. And your copy should be totally pointy.

That’s why we’ll always kick off by clearly defining (or redefining) your business problem, rather than diving straight into tactics; web copy, email funnels, digital ads, and all that.

What about the what?

There’s really no “what” list.

A big, campaignable idea is really good at expressing itself. Which means I can write copy for any channel that will move your promotional marketing strategy forward; inside a bottle cap, on a bus bench, the armpits of cricket umpires*, and yes, digital marketing channels.

Or hey, go nuts and try some ‘traditional’ marketing channels. They’re still a thing.

My only caveat is, I don’t write blogs or social posts. It’s just not what I’m for.

*actually happened. Google it.

A kind-of-a-price-list

Brand messaging guide

No more random acts of copy.

This will become a well-thumbed guide for anyone writing for your brand. It’ll lay out exactly what to say and how to say it; consistent, compelling messaging, spoken in your brand’s natural (human) voice.

High-mileage, big value stuff.

Starting from $10,000*

*standalone price i.e. not part of a larger project. If this is outside your budget, you’ve got an interesting project for me and I’m not busy… let’s talk.

You’ll come out of this process with:

  • clarity around who you’re talking to

  • the customer insights driving your messaging strategy

  • intel on how your competitors talk about themselves (and how we can use that to stand out)

  • a clear market positioning

  • key persuasive marketing messages

  • a brief ‘tone of voice’ guide

How we’ll get there:

  1. You and your team tell me all about your business and customers

  2. I do the research thing - industry & competitor analysis, existing assets review & customer research (where possible)

  3. I take this pile of information and boil it down into a clear, concise brand messaging guide

  4. We pat it into shape until it looks and feels exactly right

  5. You’ll get your final signed-off document (PDF)

  6. We all high-five and move on to the bit where I write your copy things

Literally anything else

With a brand messaging strategy in place, now we can talk about how and where you could make it come to life.

That’s tricky to price. Until I get to know your business, I won’t know where you’ll need to play to win.

But to give you an example (and save us both from sticker shock) my project fee for your brand messaging guide + a standard 5-page website (copy only) starts from $15,000* and includes:

  • your brand messaging guide (as detailed above)

  • 5 pages of copy (home, about, 3 x additional pages) + contact page

  • two rounds of revisions

  • all project admin - meetings, calls, emails etc

  • Any “IKEA” copy - those leftover bits that were brilliant but didn’t make the final edit (useful for social posts etc)

*again… if your project is exciting, I’m not going to pull a Linda Evangelista. We can still chat.

What now?

Let’s keep this pretty casual.

If you’ve got a business puzzle you think copy can solve, send me a message and we’ll line up a (free) 30-min call.

If I think I can help, I’ll put together a proposal and we’ll take it from there.

Shall we set something up?
